The ring

ASSIGNMENT
TEMPORARY PUBLIC ARENA, TERNI – 2011

DESIGN TEAM:
2A+P/A (Gianfranco Bombaci, Matteo Costanzo)

This project was an urban installation conceived to host the debates organized by the Festarch Lab organization on the occasion of the Architecture Festival in Terni. At the same time, it was also designed as an urban device to be used by local residents as a place to relax and play in one of the most important squares of the city. The yellow, stepped structure was capable of hosting around 100 people, while the ring inside it served as the setting for several debates and lectures during the one-week architecture festival. Day by day, the structure’s clear yellow walls gradually became tattooed with pasquinades in which citizens expressed their opinions on the city and its life by writing on their surfaces.
