COMPETITION ENTRY
SENIOR CENTRE, CORTINA D’AMPEZZO 2013
DESIGN TEAM:
2A+P/A (Gianfranco Bombaci, Matteo Costanzo)
The building is imagined as a large block inserted along the slope of the ground: a wooden monolith set in the green lawn, a compact building towards the outside and which hides inside a system of courtyards and open spaces.
The project is organized through the overlap of three levels. A basement formed by an underground part which houses the garage and the warehouses, and a part open towards the valley, where there is a strip of residences. Above this level, two floors entirely above ground are organized around two open patios, housing the remaining homes and common spaces.
The roof is configured as a further open external terrace: a large square that overlooks the landscape.
