Rome East
A city of collective rituals
SILO

Between the areas of Torre Maura and the transportation hub of Anagnina the Silo is a new landmark in the Campagna Romana, acting as an ancient defensive tower that stops cars on the edge defined by the anular highway GRA.

BATH

In front of the Cinecittà Studios, inspired by Caracalla Baths and movies sets, is a space for the sharing of information, communication and knowledge that aims to redefine the collective meaning of culture.

.

ROOF

The final stop of the Metro Line A is a place of everyday migration and exchange. Going beyond the routine of commuting, the Roof embraces a multitude of activities, giving to this mass contemporary ritual the dignity and the form of a collective experience.

CIRCUS

The Circus gives form to an artificial ground for sports, concerts, mass gatherings and all sorts of temporary events. The empty space is a machine to inhabit and give a structure to the Centocelle Park.

HYPOSTYLE

In a leftover plot of the Cinecittà area the Hypostyle negotiates the different elements of the context while reclaiming a space to share food as tool to construct and reinforce local identity and production.

SHED

Food production is at the heart of a new idea of social condenser and sustainabil- ity proposed for the southern part of the Mistica Estate, where a series of sheds host a farm as a space for production, encounters and collective gatherings.

REASEARCH AND EXHIBITION
SEOUL BIENNALE OF ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM 2020

DESIGN TEAM:
2A+P/A (Gianfranco Bombaci, Matteo Costanzo)
CURATOR:
Davide Sacconi

The project proposes a building organized on three overlapping levels. Each internal functional core corresponds to a open space in front. Like a majestic set on multiple levels, the building is indeed conceived as a system of terraces that overlook the natural landscape of the garden, following the natural slope of the terrain. The life of the cultural center is thus staged in a dynamic choreography given by the daily movements of the school users and the residents of the neighborhood.
