Ground Specific is a garden specifically designed for the elderly residents of Calaf, a small town nestled in the heart of Catalonia. It stands out as one of our initial participatory projects, developed through direct engagement with the intended users. The primary objective of the garden was to reopen a hidden gem enclosed by high walls to the local community. The residents actively contributed ideas on how the park could be utilized and landscaped, suggesting additions such as planters, benches, chairs, tables for card games, and even a dance floor. In homage to the memory of the tall wall that once concealed the garden, the new perimeter is delineated by a wall punctuated with portholes of various sizes.
