URBAN SETTLEMENT, TARTU, 2008

A visionary graphic novel about urban planning. This project was developed for the Europan 8 competition. It is about a new housing settlement in Tartu, Estonia. From the beginning, the aim of the project was designing a story, or investigating the narrative dimension of architecture. The explanatory report itself took the form of a graphic novel whose drawings and text were necessary to an understanding of the project. A few years later, we decided to develop the story in the form of a video in order to further its narrative exploration. The video version has received prizes and has been shown at several architecture festivals around the world.
