PUBLIC SPACE, MILAN, ITALY - 2015 DESIGN TEAM: 2A+P/A (Gianfranco Bombaci, Matteo Costanzo) with TommasoArcangioliArchitetto Maintaining the architectural elements, capable of giving continuity to the XVIII century character of the space, the project suggests a new vision. The design expands the square up to the physical limits of surrounding architecture by means of a new floor which can absorb inside both pedestrian and vehicular areas, into a single hybrid entity. The borders, the different heights, sidewalks, road signs, are all removed to start from a neutral stage on which it would be possible to re-establish a new scene, with new and old "actors" capable of telling the stories of tradition, but also to imagine a more active participation of this place to the city life.
