We contribute with Davide Sacconi to the book about Superstudio’s Fundamental Acts, promoted by Salottobuono inside the frame of “Archivo/Italia, Italian design in the collection of Archivo Diseño y Arquitectura”, curated by Mario Ballesteros, opening on Thursday, October 22, at 19:30 in Mexico City.
The FUNDAMENTAL ACTS propose a collective reformulation of five great themes of the human existence – LIFE, EDUCATION, CEREMONY, LOVE and DEATH – based on a palimpsest provided by Superstudio in 1972.
Our contribution is about EDUCATION.
The FUNDAMENTAL ACTS were conceived by Superstudio as a series of films centered on the relationship between architecture and the acts of human life. The films were sketched in storyboard format and later published as a series of documents on the pages of Casabella.
The FUNDAMENTAL ACTS contain the possibility of reintroducing a discourse on the relationship between architecture and ritual. They explore the spatiality of rituals and their structure, focusing on architecture as a technology at the service of memory.
The FUNDAMENTAL ACTS have been (re)produced by a group of international contributors: Andrea Balestrero, Tatiana Bilbao, ciguë, Nick Ross, Point Supreme (Konstantinos Pantazis, Marianna Rentzou), Giovanna Silva, Alberto Sinigaglia, Jean-Benoît Vétillard, 2A+P/A, Davide Sacconi, Aristide Antonas, Fake Industries, Architectural Agonism (Urtzi Grau, Cristina Goberna), Joana Rafael, Curtis Roth, Florian Sauter, Charlotte Von Moos, Matilde Cassani, Louis De Belle, Bethan Huges, Go Hasegawa, Aaron Moulton, Jason Metcalf, Productora (Wonne Ickx), Renato Rizzi, The Ship (Benjamin Gallegos Gabilondo, Marco Provinciali, Francesca Romana, Giorgio De Vecchi, Anna Livia Friel), WAI Architecture Think Tank (Cruz Garcia, Nathalie Frankowski), Laurent de Carniere, June 14 Meyer-Grohbrügge & Chermayeff, Lanza Atelier, Miniatura, Monadnock (Job Floris), Roosmarijn Pallandt, Stefano Zeni, Ester Ghislieri, Baukuh, Giulia Cenci, Ludovico Centis, Michele Marchetti, Marco Scapin, Giancarlo Zampirollo, GANKO, Stefano Graziani, Amedeo Martegani, Thomas Raynaud, Salottobuono
